Berry Season

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version Salmon Berries along the road are a welcome treat, but serious berry picking is best in swampy places. I just visited my favourite berry patch this evening. Horsetails and tall grasses came up to my chest while I tried to reach the biggest and best berries, probably stepping on a few slugs in the process. My bucket was filled quickly and tomorrow's dessert is prepared. - In July: Huckleberries and Thimbleberries. And best of all - Blackberries in August.
