Printer-friendly versionWe had our first harvest of 2 delicious, red, round radishes. We’ll see if the others are as good and not worm-eaten as we have seen in the past. With the wet weather, the slugs have returned, and they are bigger than ever. I removed one huge one today which was half holding onto the siding of the upper layer of raised beds, and the other half was extended towards a sunflower. That size of slug can do quite a bit of damage in a short period of time. My twice-daily slug patrols may not be enough to keep them at bay. I know, in order to really be rid of them I should kill them, but I just chuck them into the forest – hopefully far enough that it takes them years to make their way back into our garden.
