Pond Life

A red-legged frog has inhabited the shores of our pond. He was seen frequently last month, sitting on a mossy pad by the pond, totally still, not blinking an eye.

I haven't seen him in days. Maybe he has found a mate and has hopped off to another body of water.

Just as I thought there was no life left in the pond, I saw one goldfish swimming around. This may be the lone survivor of six fish that were there at the beginning of the past, harsh winter. Now this is one more reason for a daily walk up to the pond.

 Last year's goldfish population.
