Ship Wrecks and New Water Shoes

Last month I discovered that my blue Necky Sky kayak had disappeared from where I stored it beside my old red Eske kayak above Pebbly Beach.

My red kayak had been left there for the last 18 years. It was rescued once by a waterfront neighbour after extremely high tides. I want to believe that my blue boat was a victim of nature's forces, and did not disappear because somebody saw an opportunity. I was choked about a loss I could have prevented and did nothing for a while. Finally, I faced the facts and started doing something about finding it by placing a "Lost" ad in the local paper, contacting the RCMP, and contacting Transport Canada who has people called "Receiver of Wreck", who are custodians of "wreck". I have some remote hope to recover my boat that I was so happy to acquire last summer. If not, it will have been an expensive lesson for me.

My hope is such, that I bought a new pair of water shoes today - matching my bathing suit! The next summer will be coming, and I'll be prepared. Cool
