Recipes
This site now has a recipe module (at the top right click on "recipes). Anyone looking there yesterday will have found only the beginning of the German Cheese Cake recipe. I have now completed it, and even included a photo. More recipes to come as time permits.

There are 52 Guests On-Line
When checking our Sevenhills website, I saw that there is "one user and 52 guests on-line". It is neat, but also a bit frightening, to think that anyone in the world with internet access can visit this site. I still have to get used to this idea of writing "for the world". I hope to learn more about the whats and whys and hows of blogging at the Northern Voice conference. I'll bring my knitting - just in case it gets too technical for my brain!
Another new year
I just read my entry from last January, where I looked forward to a whole new year. Another one has started, again giving me the feeling of something fresh and new. All kinds of possibilities stretch in front of us! What would life be like without those milestones and measures such as days, months, years? Maybe like the time we spent in the cabin at Deka Lake, the time suspended "between the years", knowing the old year is ending and the new one has not yet begun.

Dear Anne & Horst,
Just a quick note from the Rockies to say thank you for your hospitality and also, a BIG thanks for delivering our bags!! The memories of Bowen Island will take us a long way this year.

August 2001:
Dear Anne and Horst,
Rain
I am so glad that I went for a long walk after work yesterday, picking a bucket of huckleberries and salmon berries. This morning, rain came down in sheets, drenching everything. I had forgotten that it could rain that hard! A wet day for sailors in the Round Bowen Race. But, I am sure, a great day for slugs.

Cats are hibernating and I am staying in the house, working on my “inside to do list”, maybe making a berry pie. When I am tired I may join the cats.
